Dutch Lady 3Q15 Net Profit Surges 75%

  • Dutch Lady Milk Industries’ 3Q15 earnings advanced 74.8 percent to RM50 million, on the back of favourable raw material purchases and positive foreign currency hedging effects.
  • Revenue for the quarter gained a smaller 6.3 percent to RM255.6 million, mainly attributable to the relaunch of the Dutch Lady Children Formula milk.
  • For the nine-month period, the company’s turnover slipped a marginal 0.8 percent to RM730.8 million underpinned by the weak consumer sentiments, while net profit rose 52.5 percent to RM75.9 million.

Significance: For 3Q15, Dutch Lady has declared a special dividend of RM0.60 per share alongside a standard interim dividend of RM0.50 per share. Looking ahead, the group expects business environment to remain challenging but is committed to leveraging on the strength of its brand, with plans for higher level of brand support and shopper activities.
