Zhulian Profit 34 Percent Higher In Q2
  • Zhulian Corp‘s net profit jumped 34.2 percent to RM11.1 million in 2Q15 ended 31 May 2015 from RM8.3 million in 2Q14 on the back of higher revenue from the Myanmar market and strengthening of the US dollar.
  • However, revenue fell 15.8 percent to RM55.3 million compared to RM65.6 million a year ago attributable to a drop in local market sentiment.
  • For 1H15, its revenue slipped 16.1 percent to RM110.5 million from RM131.8 million a year ago. Net profit for 1H15 fell 7 percent to RM23.7 million, compared to RM25.4 million a year ago.

Significance: The company expects the future market situation to remain challenging. The group will continue to explore opportunities of tapping into new market segments through the introduction of new products and venturing into new business segments.
