Muhibbah Wins RM143 Million Port Jobs From Northport

  • Construction firm Muhibbah Engineering has secured contracts totalling RM143.1 million from Northport (M) for the upgrading of a wharf.
  • Muhibbah has secured RM138.8 million worth of works for the design and build for the upgrading of Wharf 8 and associated works at container terminal four (CT4) of Northport, and an additional provisional sum for dredging works of about RM4.3 million, inclusive of government service tax (GST).
  • The contract is for a 24-month period from the date of commencement, which will take place not later than 22 July 2015.

Significance: Upon completion of upgrading of Wharf 8, it will place Northport in a better position to handle the Triple E-Class Container vessels. This will offer Northport improved connectivities for shipping routes to service Europe, America, China and Japan.
