COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard Co, a subsidiary of COSCO Corporation’s (Singapore) 51%-owned unit, COSCO Shipyard Group Co, has entered into a contract valued over Rmb129m to build a research vessel, which is expected to be delivered in 4Q17.

EMAS Offshore has secured a contract, valued at more than US$30m, for the charter of 4 marine vessels to an oil major in West Africa for the provision of accommodation, anchor handling, towing, supplying and other support services. Additionally, the firm will also participate in a major maintenance, modifications and operations project, which is expected to take 1.3 years, with works likely to commence in 4Q15.

Ezra Holdings’ subsea services division, EMAS AMC, has secured several global contracts with total value of more than US$115m (including options). The projects include one for rigid pipelay on the Aviat field development in the UK North Sea, the provision of engineering and offshore support work in West Africa, and other subsea services.

iFAST Corporation has proposed the acquisition of Winfield Securities for an estimated consideration of HK$14.7m, to be financed through its initial public offering proceeds. Winfield is engaged in securities trading and brokerage in Hong Kong. The proposed deal will allow iFAST to conduct securities brokerage services in Hong Kong and expand the range of investment products available on its investment platform.

Mapletree Greater China Commercial Trust (MGCCT) has acquired Sandhill Plaza, a premium quality business park located in Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park in Shanghai, for Rmb1,888.1m (approximately $412.2m), including estimated working capital adjustments, from MSREF VII Leaphart BV. The acquisition is the first since the trust’s listing, which also marks the start of its growth through accretive acquisitions in addition to organic growth and asset enhancement initiatives.

Midas Holdings’ 32.5%-owned joint venture unit, Nanjing SR Puzhen Rail Transport Co, has secured 3 contracts valued at Rmb2.1b for the supply of metro trains and trams in China, scheduled for delivery between 2016 and 2017. The wins provide a healthy boost to the unit’s order book, with the tram car supply contract offering diversification to its portfolio.

Otto Marine’s wholly owned subsidiary, Swordfish 1, has entered into a long-term bareboat charter contract worth US$27m. The 238-men work maintenance vessel being chartered is currently under construction and will be delivered in 3Q15.

Singapore Technologies Engineering’s aerospace arm, Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace), has secured a 7-year contract worth more than US$100m (approximately $134.8m), for aircraft component support with Flybe. The deal entails the provision of comprehensive component maintenance-by-the-hour support covering component exchange, repair, overhaul, modification, reliability monitoring and logistics services.

Singapore Post’s indirect wholly-owned unit, Quantium Solutions (Australia), has acquired a 30% stake in Australian e-commerce company Hubbed Holdings by way of subscription for new shares for A$4.3m (approximately $4.6m). Under the deal, an additional A$1m will be paid to Hubbed if certain predetermined performance benchmarks are met, otherwise the group will be entitled to subscribe for an additional 5% stake.

Starburst Holdings’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Starburst Engineering, has received letters of intent with a total contract value of approximately $16.1m for firearm shooting range projects in the Middle East. The projects, which involve the design, supply and installation of ballistic protection works for firearm shooting training facilities are scheduled to commence in 3Q15 with completion expected by Dec-16.
