I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the readers of Shares Investment to have a prosperous lunar new year ahead! 恭喜发财!

It is the reporting season now. With many newly released financial statements in hand, investors may have the opportunity to find stocks with good potential.

It is important to screen out those stocks as early as possible and before a big move happens.

Apparently, it will be extremely time-consuming to read many reports and charts before one can find one or a few good candidates with good risk/reward ratio, but homework is necessary and important to achieve better investment results.

Today I would like to share a potential opportunity I found after a lot of screening activities.

Singshipping released a quarterly report on 11 Feb. The report shows that revenue increased 8 percent and net profit increased 40 percent, indicating that the company is not only stable but also exhibits a healthy growth.

The current price is only around 1.5 times of NAV and PE is around 12 times, indicating that the current price is not considered “expensive” according to the generally accepted view of fundamental analysis.

From a technical perspective, the weekly chart shows that both moving averages (personally I use 7EMA and 13 EMA) and MACD histogram indicates a bullish signal.

In addition, it broke above the 2 year high of $0.295 recently and did not come back below this level. It is another sign of strength and suggests that the current uptrend is likely to continue after a consolidation.

One may consider entering a trade or investment if the breakout of $0.30 happens as it is likely to open the room for more upside movement.
