The Straits Times Index (STI) traded at 3,411.04, down 16.12 points (0.47 percent) from previous close, at mid-day. The market traded on moderate volume of 430.4 million shares traded with 134 gainers and 174 losers as of 12:19pm.

Notable gainers were Transcorp, Allied Tech, M Development, Plastoform and Lafe, with Transcorp leading the pack.

Notable losers were Cedar Strategic, Xpress, Sunright, SP Corp and Jasper Inv, with Cedar Strategic leading the pack.

CapitaLand reported a 67.2 percent and 187 percent surge in top and bottom lines to $1.5 billion and $409.4 million respectively, for the fourth quarter ended 31 December 2014. The better performance was mainly attributable to the revenue recognition from the sale of all the office strata units in Westgate Tower, higher rentals from shopping mall business and increased revaluation gains from investment properties. For the full year, revenue and net profit grew 11.8 percent and 38.2 percent respectively to $3.9 billion and $1.2 billion respectively. The group has declared a dividend per share of $0.09.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) has secured new shipbuilding orders from JHW Engineering & Contracting, for the construction of two 27,500 cubic metre liquefied natural gas carriers. The vessels are worth a combined US$135 million and are scheduled to be delivered in 2017.
