The Straits Times Index (STI) traded at 3,420.47, down 24.10 points (0.7 percent) from previous close, at mid-day. The market traded on moderate volume of 378.5 million shares traded with 119 gainers and 214 losers as of 11:51am.

Notable gainers were Sinostar PEC Holdings, ICP, Epicentre Holdings, Foreland Fabrictech Holdings and Stratech Systems, with Sinostar PEC leading the pack.

Notable losers were Nico Steel Holdings, MDR, Cacola Furniture International, Moya Holdings Asia and CEFC International, with Nico Steel leading the pack.

Sembcorp Industries proposed the acquisition of a 60 percent stake in Green Infra, a renewable energy company in India with a portfolio consisting of wind and solar energy generating sources, for INR10.6 billion (approximately $227 million). This acquisition marks Sembcorp’s entry into India’s renewable energy market, and is aligned with the company’s strategy towards growing its renewable energy business. The transaction is expected to conclude by the end of the month.

ComfortDelGro Corporation saw an 8.1 percent gain in revenue to $4.1 billion for the year ended 31 December 2014, as the company registered growth across all business segments. Subsequently, net profit was up 7.7 percent to $283.5 million. The group has declared a final dividend per share of $0.045.
