Cambridge Industrial Trust announced an acquisition proposal of 16 International Business Park, Singapore, for a consideration of $28m. The 3-storey building located within International Business Park in Jurong has a gross floor area of approximately 69,258 sqf and remaining land tenure of 41.6 years. Upon completion of the acquisition, the property will be leased to M+W Singapore for 11.6 years, with the option to renew for 2 consecutive 5-year terms.

CapitaLand has acquired a 50% stake in Asiana Agresif from Juta Asia Corporation, with the intention to jointly develop a piece of land in Kuchai Lama, Kuala Lumpur. The land is owned by Asiana Agresif, and will be developed into a block of condominium and low rise villas. Following the RM24.8m acquisition, Asiana Agresif will be an associated company of CapitaLand.

Fortune REIT announced plans to acquire Laguna Plaza for HK$1.9b, with completion expected by 9 Jan-15. Valued at HK$2.1b with estimated net property yield of 4.3%, the target property has a gross rental area of 163,203 sqf, a 150-lot parking facility and 77 tenants as of 31 Oct-14. The committed occupancy rate of the property as at 8 Dec-14 is approximately 96.7%.

Frasers Centrepoint’s Thailand subsidiary has agreed to sell its 49% stake in Riverside Homes Development Co and its 40.5% interest in Krungthep Land Public Company for THB2,275.9m (about $90.8m). Both firms develop residential properties for sale in Bangkok, Thailand. The sales are part of Frasers’ strategy to rebalance its portfolio with a view to increase its recurrent earnings and reduce reliance on its development business.

GP Industries announced its decision to dispose its entire investment in Coudrey Investments to Crystal Time Group for a cash consideration of US$2.9m ($3.8m). Coudrey Investments is principally an investment holding firm, and holds a 50% equity interest in an Indonesian company dealing with electrical wiring accessory products. As of 30 Sep-14, Coudrey’s net aggregate book value and related goodwill is valued at approximately $3.2m.

Halcyon Agri Corporation’s turnover rose 140% to US$113.7m for 3Q14, underpinned by contributions from the newly acquired Anson Company. However, gross margin narrowed 9.1 percentage points to 4.7% due to lower average selling price. Coupled with surges in administrative and finance expenses, Halcyon sank into the red with a net loss of US$12.2m. For 9M14, revenue climbed 26.5% to US$191.6m while a net loss of US$11.2m was incurred.

Hiap Hoe announced the disposal of JV Hiap Hoe SuperBowl to Hiap Hoe Holdings, its majority shareholder. Hiap Hoe Holdings will fully own the JV, and assumes all its existing shareholders’ loans. Net proceeds of $72.8m arising from the divestment will be utilised for working capital requirements, general corporate purposes and reducing the company’s bank borrowings.

Huan Hsin Holdings stated its decision to dispose its subsidiary 51%-owned stake in Hefei Baolong Hsin Technology Co to Shenzhen Bitland Information Technology Co, which owns the remaining 49% stake. The disposal is agreed upon at a sum of Rmb6.2m in cash.

PNE Micron Holdings proposed to acquire a 50% stake in SMC Industrial for $11.3m. SMC is engaged in the trading of commodities including copper, stainless steel and other special alloy. The move is in line with PNE’s strategy to diversify into the trading business related to coal, commodities and other products within the energy, minerals and resource sector

Spackman Entertainment Group has agreed to acquire a 51% stake in Novus Mediacorp Co for $2.5m. Novus is a renowned movie investor, presenter and ancillary distributor of Korean theatrical films. Novus is currently co-producing 3 theatrical films, bringing Spackman’s current production slate to 10 films, of which 7 or more are aimed for release in 2015.
