The Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 6.88 point (0.21 percent) at 3,318.93. The market traded on moderate volume of 103.69 million shares traded with 88 gainers and 183 losers as of 12:09pm.

Notable gainers were LH, Magnus Energy, Sinostar Pec and Qingmei, with LH leading the pack.

Notable losers were Moya Asia, China Haida, Xpress and Global Tech, with Moya Asia leading the pack.

In other alerts, Genting Hong Kong’s wholly-owned subsidiary Star Cruises Terminal (China) has entered into an agreement to purchase EXA from Golden Hope, a substantial shareholder of Genting Hong Kong. The US$37.9 million acquisition allows Genting Hong Kong to explore new avenues for its business as EXA holds equity interests in yachts dealing companies, namely Wider S.R.L., Grand Bank Yachts, U-Boat Worx and Wider Yacht Asia.
