The third quarter earnings season is about to start. Companies like SPH REIT, Singapore Press Holdings and Keppel REIT are scheduled to release results within the next two weeks.

More often than not, revenue and earnings are two company performance measures that fill the headlines. But just looking at these two figures covers only one side of the story. Investors should look beyond these metrics and incorporate balance sheet and cash flow statements into the analysis. By doing that, one will be able to sieve out valuable insights and get a proper view of the operations of a company’s business.
