The Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 23.09 points (0.71%) at 3,241.00 on moderate volume of 77.66 million shares traded with 111 gainers and 120 losers as of 12:05pm.

Notable gainers were Infinio, Advanced Systems, Sitra, China Oilfield and Annica, with Infinio leading the pack.

Notable losers were Cedar Strategic, Lereno Bio-Chem, Versalink, HL Global Ent and Samko Timber , with Cedar Strategic leading the pack.

In other alerts, TEE Land’s revenue sank 52.6 percent to $6.4 million for the first quarter ended 31 August 2014, as there was no revenue contribution from the 91 Marshall property development which was completed in FY14. Despite the fall in revenue, better performance registered from its associate that was in excess of 90 percent helped to lift net profit by 367 percent to $2.7 million.

United Overseas Bank was among nine of the international banks to be awarded a licence by the Central Bank of Myanmar to open a banking branch in Myanmar. UOB views that the licence would allow the group to more actively participate in Myanmar’s rapid economic development.
