The Straits Times Index (STI) closed up 10.08points (0.31%) at 3,307.37 on moderate volume of 66.04 million shares traded with 192 gainers and 132 losers as of 11:53am.

Notable gainers were Singapore eDev, EMS Energy R, E2-Capital, Next-Gen Sat and Amplefield, with Singapore eDev leading the pack.

Notable losers were Blue Sky Power, LottVision, Nico Steel, HL Global Ent and China Bearing , with Blue Sky Power leading the pack.

In other alerts, Xinren Aluminum Holdings acquired 55 percent of shareholding interest in Xinjiang Tianfu Coal Mining Co for Rmb88.6 million in cash. Xinjiang Tianfu is primarily involved in the sale of coal. As the target company owns existing coal mine reserves, the acquisition will allow the company to lower its cost of production without the need to incur additional investments in exploration.

Keppel Land agreed to dispose of its one-third interest in Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3 to Keppel Real Estate Investment Trust for $710.1 million (subject to completion and post completion adjustments). The property comes with a 99-year lease tenure, and is a 46-storey Grade A mixed used development (comprising office and retail space) that has 1.3 million square feet of net lettable area.
