Asiasons Capital agreed to acquire 10.7% of the issued and paid-up share capital in EMS Holdings for a purchase consideration of $2.7m. The target company is principally involved in the business of exhibitions and events management. The company views the acquisition as an opportunity to leverage on EMS’ platform in order to further develop and enhance its business in the events marketing and management industry.

CapitaLand now holds more than 90% of the issued shares of CapitaMalls Asia (CMA). The shares of CMA have been suspended from trading after the close of CapitaLand’s offer for CMA on 9 June. An application for the delisting of CMA has been submitted to the Singapore Exchange by CapitaLand.

China Kunda Technology Holdings agreed to dispose 3 of its subsidiaries, namely Kunda (Mould) International, Kunda Mould (Shenzhen) and Changchun FAW-Sihuan Lida Pressed Component for a sale consideration of about HK$37m. The move will allow the company to restructure its business mix in order to achieve stronger financial performance. When completed, consolidated net loss attributable to shareholders of the company for FY14 will decrease from HK$73.1m to HK$26m on a proforma basis.

Fragrance Group agreed to acquire a property located at 555 Collins Street, Melbourne, Australia, for a purchase consideration of A$78m. The freehold property comes with a total land area of 2,300 square metres (sqm) and an existing high-rise commercial building, which the company intends to re-develop into a high-rise mixed development.

Global Logistic Properties (GLP) inked a build-to-suit agreement with Deppon Logistics for a 25,000 sqm distribution centre at GLP Park Jinjiang in Greater Xiamen, China.

Jubilee Industries Holdings, along with Jewelstone Properties, will no longer be proceeding with the proposed acquisition of Tenderside Ventures. Jubilee mentioned in a statement to the Singapore Exchange that both parties were unable to reach a consensus on some of the principal commercial terms of the proposed acquisition.

Ley Choon Group Holdings has been awarded $20.4m worth of contracts by the Public Utilities Board. The contracts, expected to last from 2014 to 2016, include the supply and laying of water mains. The contracts lift the firm’s order book to $201.4m.

Midas Holdings’ joint venture company Nanjing SR Puzhen Rail Transport Co (NPRT) has secured 3 metro train contracts worth Rmb3.5b. The 3 contracts are expected to contribute to the group’s financial performance positively for the next 3 years. Midas has a 32.5% equity stake in NPRT.

Sheng Siong Group has been granted an option to buy a 3-storey commercial property, spanning 3,876 sqm, in Tampines Central for $65m. The firm targets to open a new store, measuring 910 sqm, in 1Q15, which will be expanded as existing tenancies expire in 2016 and 2017.

Singapore Telecommunications agreed to acquire Adconion Media, Adconion and Kontera Technologies for an aggregate purchase consideration of US$359m. Adconion is a digital advertising group which offers digital advertising solutions for Fortune 500 brands across a range of marketing channels, while Kontera is a digital content intelligence and marketing technology company that provides real-time digital content analysis across mobile, web and social networks.

Thai Beverage’s chairman, Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi is seen by others to be risking piling on more debt on an empire still digesting its big acquisition (Fraser & Neave), when he is now seeking to increase his exposure down under with an offer to buy Australand. His bet of US$2.4m is also 5% above the takeover value estimated by analysts at Credit Suisse.
