ComfortDelGro Corporation reported a 9.2% y-o-y growth in revenue to $950.8m in 1Q14, underpinned by positive currency translation effects and growth in all business segments except for the car rental and leasing business as well as automotive engineering services. Consequently, net profit rose 9.7% y-o-y to $63.3m.

Cordlife Group posted $11.8m in revenue for the quarter ended 31 Mar, up 64% from 3Q13, underpinned by increased client deliveries in the Philippines, India and Indonesia. However, higher overall expenses related to the 3 countries eroded profitability as bottom line rose by a smaller margin of 24.4% to $1.5m. For the 9-month period, turnover and earnings grew 40.7% and 49.3% to $35.3m and $14.4m respectively.

Dyna-Mac Holdings secured new fabrication orders, worth $50m, with works expected to commence in 2Q14. The orders, obtained from 2 repeat clients, involve 8 units of topside modules and 3 units of structural blocks.

Fraser & Neave posted a 3.8% gain in revenue to $589.4m for the second quarter ended 31 Mar, boosted by better business performance across the board. Given the absence of contribution from its discontinued operations that was present in 2Q13 and a $17.7m loss on distribution of discontinued operations, earnings sank 64.5% to $16.7m. For the 6-month period, revenue grew 4.4% to $1.2b, while earnings fell 96.5% to $173.5m.

Frasers Centrepoint has fully acquired LaSalle 61 Philip Sub Trust, a unit trust incorporated in Australia, as well as a 100% stake of Ananke Holdings, the master lessee of the LaSalle’s owned hotel known as Sofitel Sydney Wentworth for a collective amount of $237.2m.

GuocoLeisure reported a 23.1% y-o-y increase in revenue to US$90.5m in 3Q14, underpinned by higher revenue generated by the gaming, hotel and property development segments. This has led to net losses narrowing by 95.4%, from US$6.5m in 3Q13 to US$0.3m in 3Q14.

Hwa Hong Corporation agreed to assume a 50% stake in 5 retail shop units in London. The net acquisition consideration of the properties, measuring a total floor area of approximately 14,399 sqf, is £10.3m ($21.5m). Hwa Hong is paying £2.8m ($5.9m) for its share.

Overseas Education’s revenue edged up 1.1% to $25.5m for the first quarter ended 31 Mar, mainly due to higher tuition fees. With all else remaining relatively flat, earnings grew 6.1% to $5.5m.

PACC Offshore Services Holdings bagged a US$80.5m charter contract for its accommodation vessel to support Petrobras’ oil and gas production activities in the Campos Basin. The contract, commencing in December, will last for 1 year, with an extension option for another year. If the option is exercised, the total contract value will be in excess of US$144m.

Raffles Education Corporation’s joint venture (JV), Value Vantage, is disposing its entire interest in Value Vantage (Hangzhou) Co, to Shanghai Jin Hui Investment and Management Co for Rmb850m. Based on Raffles’ financial statements ended 31 Dec-13, the book value of the interest was worth about $40.7m.

SATS announced that it has agreed not to proceed with the acquisition of Singapore Cruise Centre and to terminate the sales and purchase agreement due to market developments in Asia.

Super Group posted a 5.8% y-o-y decline in turnover to $124.6m for the 3 months ended 31 Mar, mainly due to slower branded consumer and food ingredients sales. Coupled with higher overall expenses, net profit fell 19.5% y-o-y to $17.8m.

Technics Oil and Gas’s JV has secured a letter of award to set up a gas processing facility in South Asia worth $166m with 2 years of operations and maintenance.

Vibrant Group’s JV, Master Real Estate, has acquired a resettlement housing development site in Jiangyin, China, for Rmb75.4m. The site, with a guaranteed buy-back upon project completion clause, will house residential developments.
