FTSE ST Index Series

The FTSE ST Index Series, launched on 10 January 2008, aims to provide a comprehensive index solution for the Singapore equity market. In total, there are 19 indices in the series, which are built in accordance with the Industry Classification Benchmark, adopted by major stock exchanges across the globe.

Stocks are free-float weighted and liquidity screened to ensure that the indices are tradable and investable. Marking the most comprehensive change in the Singapore Exchangeʼs indices since 1988, the series evolved as a result of a partnership between the FTSE, Singapore Exchange and Singapore Press Holdings.

Heading the list is the revamped STI, that indicates the performance of the top 30 companies by market capitalisation listed on the Singapore Exchange. Complementing the STI are the FTSE ST Mid Cap and Small Cap indices, which provide coverage of more than 200 companies.
For the first time, specific theme indices such as FTSE ST China Index, which includes 50 SGX-listed Chinese stocks and FTSE Real Estate Investment Trust Index are created. The FTSE ST Index Series is aimed at stimulating the development of index-related products and helping local companies gain a wider following.
