Aug-15, 1Q16, Co recorded a 12.8% gain in net profit, boosted by exceptional gains, which included divestment gains from venture investments as well as Airtel Africa's tower assets. Operating revenue inched up 1.5%, a rather muted performance due to the weaker Australian dollar. The group consumer business (largest revenue contributor) rose approximately 2% to $2.6b, driven by higher mobile data uptake & equipment sales.
May-15, FY15 net profit grew 3.5 percent driven by revenue growth from Infocomm Technology, Sale of equipment and Digital businesses segments as well as higher associates' contributions. Going forward, Co expects increased capital expenditure in FY16, which reflects multi-year investments to support the transformation in its core business.
